LIFE LONG FAMILY HOME - noir by david cliff - This home truly is a tardis with a generous garden that you can grow in to – there is just masses of space for everything and everyone! Our sellers have solved the predicament that we all face; needing indoor and outdoor space for children to play, family to stay, teenagers needing their own space, young adults staying at home or returning home after university, entertaining friends, storing things and even somewhere to park many cars. So they took it upon themselves to create a house that really worked for them and that they could really use as time went on. What’s even better is that it is now available for you to buy with no onward chain complications!
So how are all these needs met? Well, the best way to appreciate this spacious family home is to come inside and see it for yourself but for now I will give you an overview. The door is on the side of the house so you walk in to a large central open hallway with a galleried landing and with Velux windows in the vaulted ceiling above this space really does feel huge. Now this family needed a place to work from home and for children to crack on with school work so as you turn right you find three separate reception rooms – two studies and then a hobby room which has doubled up as a fifth bedroom for guests over the years. Continuing on along this hallway you reach the indoor workshop. Yes, you did read that correctly – a workshop where you can work indoors come rain or shine and that has a further door in to the garage which spans around 27 ft 5 by 15 ft 11 (room for three cars) so it is big!! So whether you are a car enthusiast or just want space to store the kids bikes and the camping gear; you’ve got it all here to play with – without the hassles of putting stuff into the loft!!
Back in the hall way, if you were to walk straight ahead you will walk in to the games room which has basically been the children’s haven for these people. A large room which can easily house sofas, large TV or a pool table if you like but that then has double doors out on to a courtyard area. So when friends visit, they can come in through the front door, straight in to the games room and then out on to the courtyard without making a mess elsewhere in the house; they even have an additional bathroom next door as well– sounds ideal right?? On the bathroom – it is well placed if the games room were to be used as a large downstairs bed/sitting room.
Towards the back of this house (and trust me, there is a lot of it!) is the utility room which then moves in to the kitchen which is fully fitted and has plenty of room for a table and with two windows down the side and a large window overlooking the garden it really is a light bright room. On the other side is the main living room – well I say main living room…it is so big that it could be just about anything as well as a living room. There are double doors out on to the patio and it is currently set up with some large armchairs and dining table - but don’t forget if you wanted a separate dining room you always have the games room to play with – pardon the pun.
Upstairs the theme is generally the same when it comes to space. All the rooms are very well proportioned and throughout the first floor there are various cubby-holes and storage spaces that have been created in the eaves of the property. So bedrooms 2, 3 and 4 are generous double bedrooms and bedroom two also has an en suite with bath plus shower and that rule runs throughout the top floor. The main bathroom, en suite to the master and en suite to the second bedroom all have separate baths and showers so whichever you prefer; the option is there.
Now, for me, the master bedroom is really quite special. As you walk in through the door the room instantly opens up and ahead of you you can already catch a glimpse of the large window which looks straight out over the garden. There are wardrobes built in along the left hand side of the room and what really opens this room up is the vaulted ceiling with exposed wood beams which really adds to the character for me. It goes without saying that you’ve got the en suite here as well.
As you pull up to this house, the first thing you will notice is the in - out driveway which has plenty of space for multiple vehicles. Down the left hand side of the house there is a wide space creating plenty of space for storage and then out the back there is a large patio area which is perfect for entertaining family and friends. This garden is extremely private, it’s around 200ft long and very cleverly this family have utilised the garden in different ways over the years to make way for badminton nets, football goals, trampolines and all the usual things you would expect to see in a family garden. Visit today though and you would never know it as nowadays there is an abundance of colour from the various flowers, plants and shrubs that have been carefully planted over the years.
And last but not least, this property is positioned in a quiet location away from main roads and is only around a 5 minute walk from footpaths taking you into the Finchampstead countryside.
This place really does just work and it is clear to see from the minute you walk in. So get in touch today and let us show you the finer details!
