ESFA PREMIER LEAGUE U11 SOUTH REGIONAL TOURNAMENT
SATURDAY 2ND DECEMBER @ READING FC

WOKINGHAM DISTRICT THROUGH TO NATIONAL FINALS!

On Saturday 2nd December, Wokingham District U11s were crowned South Regional Champions at the ESFA Premier League U11 District Regional Tournament.

Wokingham did not concede a single goal throughout the tournament and on route to the final beat Southampton, Basingstoke and Newbury all 2-0 thanks to goals from Emil Mursalov (3), Ejiro Abbey, George Weston-Brown and Josh Murray.

In the final, Wokingham were against Aldershot who also finished top of their group. Wokingham dominated possession but both teams found it difficult to create any clear chances. The game subsequently had to be decided by penalties and it was the Wokingham goalkeeper, Pranav Ganti, who was the hero saving Aldershot’s fifth penalty – leaving it to Josh Murray to slot home from the spot to see Wokingham crowned South Regional Champions.

The team will be rewarded for their success with a place in the National Finals which will take place at Liverpool FC’s Melwood Training Ground in June – an opportunity for the boys to compete against the best district teams from across the country.
