Sunday 21st May
Finchampstead Hurricanes 4 – 0 Send

With just the 2nd kick of the game, Send shot from deep inside their half forcing the save from Dan!! That set the tone for the game, both teams chasing the win to catch 3rd place Worplesdon. And we can only imagine Send wanted some pay back for the 8-2 beating at Finch earlier in the season.

Send pressed hard with multiple long balls over the top but the lads socked it up and started to play the ball around them to progress up the pitch. Gradually the game balanced out and the Hurricanes were maintaining good possession and making every pass count.

Finch got the break through with a long ball of there own and a 50:50 with the keeper. 1-0 up at half time and looking good.

Second half change in tactics and team sheet, lads fired up and carrying on with the confident pass and move style. The pressure payed off with a forced own-goal mistake followed by another slotted goal from a very long ball over the top. Send were not happy and basically melted down (players and manager).

With the Hurricanes neutralising every Send attack and the pressure going forwards, it was only a matter of time before another (and final) goal went in off the post. 4-0 final score, all 3 points and now 4th (above Send…thats going to smart), just 3 points behind 3rd place Worplesdon.
Every one of the team played out of their skin today, showing the desire and quality that we know they are capable.

This was the first game where we have been accused of being too physical by another team…..I feel a corner has been turned, the lads have arrived!!

Congratulations to the Hurricanes.
