Match report form 10/10/16 cup game:

Sandhurst Town  1 – 0  Uxbridge

An impressive cup performance sees us through to the next round of the league cup. I thought Uxbridge were a strong team and closer to the expected levels of quality we’ll come up against this season. Albeit a tight game, I thought defensively we were so good reducing the opposition to long range shots. Callum, Josh, Bradley, Joe, George have contributed so well in this area managing a pacy front line and dealing with them in a very disciplined way.

A much tighter game resulted in more tactical changes, all of which played off with George replacing Harvey having run his socks off, Rhys replacing Rory for the same reasons and Liam to add some stability in front of the back four. Our only criticism from the first half was failing to score good opportunities and making the final ball more effective. The second half saw a great start from Uxbridge which we expected and during these periods of the game it’s critical we maintain discipline and control. I thought we did this excellently and waited for the opportunity to present itself. Once again, the combination of Sam and Rory played off and with a fourth goal in 4 games Rory finds the net to give us the all important winner.
