MUCH MORE THAN MEETS THE EYE – noir by davidcliff – This home is truly one of the most deceiving (in a good way) homes I’ve ever seen!

I first saw this home many years ago and was mesmerised then and things haven’t changed, since then I have been fortunate to see and sell many unique homes, but this must be right up there as one of the most unique, interesting, and versatile ever.

Let us start with the setting, Farley Hill, for many this would already be enough to have your hand up making an offer, but we haven’t really started yet.

The gated entrance screens things well and on entering, the size of the frontage is quite surprising, ample parking to one side and lovely gardens to the other setting the scene well and this has all happened before you get inside!

So, we wander inside and be prepared, you will have to go around at least twice before you can take this all in, it’s special and I guarantee you’ll forget some rooms even exist.

Let us start with the living space, a main reception room, living room with dual aspect and a lovely size with stunning feature fireplace and log burner for those cosy winter nights, this along with some exposed timbers just add character and interest. The dining room is then to the other side of the entrance hall with an opening through to the kitchen. This almost gives the best of both worlds, an open plan flow yet separate space …. That said, if you did want to open up and create that space that many desire, you can. This kitchen itself is well-fitted in a contemporary style, sleek and seamless with a genuinely useful and purposeful central Island.

We’ll ignore the three bedrooms down here for a moment that sit to the rear and complete the living space because it gets even better. To the far end you come to an extension of the hallway that can take you off to the right and the utility room and garaging and then to the left passing a large well-fitted shower room. You have a walk-in shower here with rain head and side jets so just stand there and enjoy.

You could be forgiven thinking that this was it but then you see a stunning glazed and vaulted link, a conservatory as noted on the floorplan, but this doesn’t do it justice, it’s so much more than that and looks incredible, I defy you not to look up and gaze for a bit. What you then think is an end wall opens ….. this takes you into the most incredible vaulted reception space with exposed timbers, stunning fireplace and so much room to furnish as you wish. Do you like a drink, I’m not being over personal, and I won’t judge but do you? If so, you just wait until you open the floor hatch here and descend into the wine cellar, it’s soooooooo good!

Versatility is the word as you view this home and this room sums that up, add the living room, dining room, study and and glazed link and you really can have this home change as life changes, and we haven’t mentioned the ground floor bedrooms yet!

As if by magic, the ground floor bedrooms appear. Quite a simple choice here, bedrooms or reception spaces? Study? Gaming room? The central bedroom has an en suite shower room and then you also have the shower room along the hallway that I’ve mentioned so all facilities here.

Ok so having been so excited about downstairs it really is also the look on your face when you go upstairs that I want to see. When you see the roof line outside, you’d be forgiven for thinking it’s quite tight and pokey up here, but you couldn’t be more wrong. The space is wonderful, light, and bright and gives you the most stunning master suite along with luxurious and funky en suite with large shower and a tub to die for.

So now we move outside, we have covered the frontage but it’s worth stopping to take another look. Then walking out back you see a rear garden of real interest, features and fun, the sunken central space is fantastic for relaxing or entertaining and the large terrace that abuts the home with pergola is ripe for sunbathing. You can literally do all you need out here and with a walk to the village park about 30 paces away you can even throw the kids over there with their friends if it all gets too much.

I’ll be honest I really don’t know who the buyer is for this home and I mean it in a good way, we had our whole team visit as we usually do and, although a wide range of ages, they could all see themselves here for different reasons so let’s see if you agree.
