LIFE IN THE VILLAGE – Here we go again I’m afraid, one of my top two places to live, well actually it’s number one and two but hey ….

So Swallowfield, when it comes to Swallowfield I`m a bit biased, my mother still lives out here along with a lot of good friends and it`s a fantastic village to grow up in, settle down in or retire has something for everyone.
As a quintessential English village, it`s well-known for its picturesque setting and traditional local amenities, including GP Practice/ Pharmacy, General Store, Post Office and two pubs plus a thriving community with Parish Hall and a Church.

Residents enjoy a perfect blend of peaceful, rural surrounds with easy access to town centre attractions, with the vibrant area of Reading just over 15 minutes from the village by car, or by regular Bus service and Wokingham a short hop away. The primary school in Farley Hill is highly regarded and Bohunt, in the local area, is fantastic for comprehensive school requirements. Bus connections also give access to Reading and Hampshire schools.

Saranade is set in ‘The Street’ itself, lovely spot with everything close and screened from the road with gravel driveway to the side leading you to the carport and garage beyond and then taking you off to the right along the pathway.

Walking inside the entrance hall leads straight through to the back of the home with cloakroom off to the right and main living room to the left. The living room is a great size with huge bow window allowing the light to pour in but with the screening it’s very private. The fireplace is a must for me, particularly in a village setting, cosy afternoons and evenings.

Double doors then open through to a lovely dining room, almost 12ft square so a lovely space to furnish formally or informally with doors and sidelights giving access and views to the gardens. You can then walk through from here to the kitchen breakfast room or direct from the entrance hall. The kitchen itself is well-fitted with plenty of storage and large breakfast bar seating area to grab a chat and a coffee. Standing here you can also easily see the potential to open through to the dining room if you wanted a HUGE open plan space that could really work well.

You do almost think this is over but then realise there is another room, the study, a tucked away room which extends to just over 12ft. This could easily take many forms, a versatile room, workplace, kids den to hide the Xbox, whatever you need it to be.

Moving upstairs you have four bedrooms to choose from, the master is set to the front with two sets of built-in wardrobes which leaves a central doorway through to an en suite shower room. The three further bedrooms are all good sizes and work well and the family bathroom then services them well.

Ok so to the outside, we’ve covered the frontage, parking and the all important garage (it’s a boy thing) but the rear gardens are lovely, established, private and give you space to relax and entertain, just how a garden should be.
