A TRUE MILLGATE HOME – This home was well ahead of its time when built and still holds a build quality to rival all others.

I remember these homes being built and sold back in 2001 and they were so highly sought-after, not only because they carry the ‘Millgate’ name which guaranteed quality, but also because the location has to be one of the best in town, Milton Road.

Benfieldside was retained by the landowners when the site was sold, having lived here since the 1970’s they didn’t want to leave the dreamy location, so they ended up with the best of both worlds, selling to a celebrated developer and having one of their homes.

Now the time has come for new owners to be allowed the privileges of living here and enjoying this wonderful combination.

On arrival you notice the well-planned layout of this enclave, and you are just in on the left-hand side. Pull on to the huge double width driveway just in front of a vast double garage and the tour can begin.

Walking inside, the large entrance hall gives plenty of room to greet guests and get shoes and coats off. The cloakroom is off to the left with much needed cloaks cupboard just behind, the angled doubled doors (very Millgate) then open the space even more, very clever touch.

So, let’s venture into the living room first, just how I like a living room, squarer in shape so you have options to furnish and so real space, width, to work with whilst having the fireplace as lovely focal point. The dual aspect lets the light pour in with the doors then also giving both views and easy access into the gardens.

The dining room is then central to the rear and opens through to a conservatory and there are options here depending on how you like to live. Again, the dining room is square so unusually room for a dining table, furniture and still space to walk past if that makes sense, not always the case. The conservatory also a lovely size and has a garden room feel with views to enjoy whilst also allowing light through into the main home.

The kitchen breakfast room is again well-planned and very well-fitted, along with the rest of the home it is immaculate. Integrated appliances ensure the seamless look with the separate utility room giving you somewhere to close the door on.

The study is then set to the front, work away, and watch life go by.

Now moving upstairs, you’ll notice the solid staircase, and the solid floor to the first floor too. This again is a typical Millgate feature, solid floors throughout, incredible quality, no creaky floorboards or sound of footsteps echoing. That said it does mean you won’t hear the children creeping out of their bedrooms, as we all know they do.

You have four fantastic double bedrooms up here, bedrooms the master and bedroom two both have extensive fitted wardrobes, the master also has an en suite shower room. The immaculate family bathroom then serves the remaining three.

One thing we really do have to point out, and take you up into, is the roof space …..it’s insane. I’m not the tallest but you can be well over 6ft and stand up here with the open rafter roof crying out to become and amazing master suite, two additional bedrooms or the most amazing den. You really do have to come up here and your mind will run wild.

Now we move outside, I’ve touched on the frontage but to be clear it really is quite vast by way of parking and garaging. A soft lawn area immediately to the front with some evergreen planting really shows of the detailed double struck brickwork. We’d need to show the boundary line, but the driveway gives vast double width parking, room for guests and family. The garage is then simply enormous with electric roller door and so so much space inside, this is a garage you truly can fit cars in. Then you look up, the roof void is again as in the main house, vast and open, true potential here should you want to investigate it.

To the rear we have a lovely, established and incredibly quiet garden, you will forget you’re just a short stroll from the bustling re-generated town centre and all that is now on offer there. The patio area immediately abutting the home gives room to relax and entertain, enjoy your friends and family.
All in all this is a lovely home with the most lovely feel set in one of the towns most desired roads, what’s not to love.
