noir by david cliff - FANCY A FARMHOUSE?
This is a chance like no other, the chance to own, and be part of history in this stunning Grade II Listed Farmhouse.
I first saw this home over 20 years ago, I loved it then and it was a treat to go back and see it again.
The sweeping gated entrance sets the scene so well but in a modest way, not over the top at all, the farm style gate ensures this. On entering the driveway opens up to show the vast frontage, pond and parking, an amazing first impression.
The main house is appx 2000 sq feet of the most amazing beamed and vaulted living space, you will literally find yourself walking around in silence as you try and take it all in, there are too many features to begin to list.
This is a home you have to experience, feel, and then decide how to get your hands on it. The main living area is ahead of its' time, open plan and quite jaw droppingly good. The vaulted kitchen is then something you dream of, it has all the features you would want along with bundles of character and charm with then two sets of doors allowing you to spill out into the incredible grounds.
Even with this character property you still have the essentials, large utility room, lobby, and WC so you truly miss nothing.
Moving upstairs you hope for more of the same and to be honest it actually gets even better in some respects, but then I`m a big lover of a feature, beamed, vaulted ceiling and this is what you find up here. The master suite is just wonderful, a dressing room and en suite give you all you would expect and want from a modern home, so you don't feel you have to compromise. Rather than continue to warble on about beams and features I'll mention the light, natural light, bundles of it and it's wonderful.
Outside and straight over to the annexe first, the cutest, best looking and most individual annexe I think we've seen for some years. Sat on stone toadstools, yes stone toadstools, this period building is just so incredible, perfect for so many uses and simply too good not to be utilised. Currently you walk inside to fully equipped living space, a miniature, but spacious farm barn. Open plan kitchen living space on the ground floor along with shower room. Then upstairs to a vaulted bedroom, so cool, so fun and something not to be missed. Guests would fight over this along with older children so be prepared.
Into the grounds themselves, just dreamy, with a bridge in the frontage and water …. what a bonus. The space out here is incredible and wraps around this stunning home and is also home to three further outbuildings and a large garage. The enclosed terrace immediately to the rear gives so much room to sit and wistfully watch the wildlife, relax or equally entertain, the dwarf wall ties it all together rand creates definition to the main lawn.
