Double doors to the left then open to reveal steps down into an enormous triple aspect living room with a continuation of the solid oak flooring and the ceiling height rises even further. With two sets of glazed double doors on the rear elevation of the room that lead out onto the outside seating and dining space. Two huge windows on both side elevations then add even more making a light and bright room with views to watch the weather roll in. At over 30ft by 22ft you can tell how vast this space is, but you won’t fully get the feel until you walk it and feel it. It’s well worth noting that you also have the options of using the underfloor heating in this vast room and / or another beautiful log burner.
The family room then also offers flexible space as it also sits at just over 21ft by 13ft, so options are plentiful. Beyond here lies a fantastic study or bedroom six if you prefer, the solid oak flooring continues all through these rooms and the consistency of that quality is noticeable.
Moving into the quality John Lewis kitchen/ breakfast room it has a modern feel which works well, the white finish against the darker granite worksurfaces adds a lovely contrast allowing the features to stand out. The chimney has been brought into the look providing a lit recess for a freestanding Smeg range cooker which has an electric oven and 5 ring induction hob. Further integrated appliances include John Lewis combi oven and full height separate fridge and freezer along with a Bosch dishwasher. Another point I love about this room is the true space for an oversize dining table and chairs, so this really does become a room to eat with friends and family alike, amazing Sunday roasts and great times. Let’s not forget that you also have a utility room leading off from here to hide the things you want hidden so easy to clear the decks; there is space for both a washing machine and a tumble dryer in here!
Time to move upstairs, you will be forgiven for wrongly assuming that after seeing the staggering ceiling heights downstairs and the style of home this is, that the first-floor ceilings would be slightly compromised, but no. The ‘skeilings’ to use the correct term add some great character and interest but cause no issues, lovely features.
All five bedrooms are immense really, but the master suite will quite rightly have a special mention. The main room has some slight angle features which are lovely and add interest, the dual aspect then allows light to pour in and the most amazing views are there for you again. The en suite bathroom has a stunning Fired Earth bath and FE Italian palazzo tiles, so subtle but oozing class with large walk-in shower finishing the look. As you’ll see from the plans you can have bedroom two also use this in a jack & Jill style if you wish, or not, your choice. With two other beautiful bathrooms it’s clear you have choices so take some time to think how best it could work for you and see the benefit in the fact that it can change as life changes.
All of the bedrooms are true true double rooms which you’ll probably appreciate is rare and they actually balance things well with downstairs, the overall accommodation feels right, large but right, room to breath yet still a comfortable and cosy feel which is tough to get right.
Now outside, one of my favourite aspects, and angular plot approximately 1/3 of an acre and it surrounds the home which is a look and feel that I love. It again is probably easier for me to get you to refer to the pictures, but the aspect and views are incredible, genuinely incredible. The current owners have then created a cool, large wedge shaped outside seating and dining area with glass screening so if the breeze picks up across the fields you can still sit and enjoy.
I’m possibly going over the top now, but it has a holiday feel to it, the style and look I mean, plus I haven’t been away, yet this year so bear with me. When you walk out there and take a seat, you’ll know what I mean …. And if you don’t, just don’t tell me.
