Versatile Period HomeVERSATILE PERIOD HOME – I first saw this home a year or so ago and had really hoped it would come to the market then, but the current owner had plans for another 12 months.
You can see why it`s hard to leave here, a fantastic gastropub just a stroll across the road, Twyford Station with Crossrail 10 minutes away in one direction with lovely pubs and restaurants on your door step and then the re-generated Wokingham town with and even larger choice of new shops, pubs and restaurants in the other direction.
All that said now is the time to bring `Winset` to the market and we expect it to create quite a stir. The accommodation is really well balanced and offers some truly versatile living and even some further potential if you feel inclined to take things that way.
A farm style gated entrance leads through to the large gravel drive giving good parking screened by hedgerow typical of the setting and surroundings.
Walking inside the entrance porch and then beyond you have a good feeling of space, the entrance opens up considerably and shows how the home flows.
To the front left you have a lovely square shaped family room which would have been the main living room in the original home complete with attractive fireplace and lovely, large bay window allowing the light to pour in.
Moving through to the back of the home you can see where the flow of the main accommodation comes into its` own. The study is nicely tucked away as you would want so this space and the family room can be kept to themselves. This leads to the integral garage which easily fits a car, although is just a likely to be used as extra storage space.
Double doors lead from the hall to the main sitting which then sits across the rear with doors and windows giving views and access to a fantastic size garden. This space links up really well with the kitchen / dining room which can work as two separate spaces or open up and flow as one complete entertaining space. This is where Winset comes into its own, the layout is key and works for both family life and entertaining whilst still feeling cosy.
Wandering upstairs you are greeted with a large landing area that actually feels like it leads somewhere, if that make sense, not just a tight space with doors leading to rooms. You have four excellent bedrooms with both a family bathroom and separate shower room. The bathroom is effectively an en suite to bedroom one and could be changed if you wanted but does work really well as is. Bedrooms two, three and four are also doubles and all are that squarer shape again typical of homes if this age and so much easier to furnish.
Moving outside we have the most fantastic plot; the rear gardens are vast and almost `park like` in feel. The thing I love about it is that I`m still a big fan of lawn, seems like a strange thing to say maybe but football pitch, cricket pitch, dogs, you need lawn and plenty of it. Then you also have a great array of mature trees dotted around adding interest and generally breaking things up nicely. The friendly alpacas and goats in the field at the bottom often pop an inquisitive head over the fence!
All in all, you have a wonderful period family home here which already offers so much but could actually provide even more (stp) if you wanted it to grow with you, and all set on a wonderful plot.
Do get in touch and we’ll arrange for you to come and see it for yourselves.
