Town Centre HomeTOWN CENTRE HOME - You really can`t beat a good looking home and this has to be one of the most attractive periods in time. The front elevation draws you in with the detailed brickwork, feature bay window and attractive gardens behind the retaining wall.
Walking in through the covered entrance you enter the hallway and begin to see what this home is all about. The stripped wood floors continue through the majority of the ground floor and add so much, It`s the feel and look you would hope for, and you also have a lovely modern re-fitted cloakroom.
The living room is presented beautifully, it`s the cosier room with lovely feature fireplace and also benefits from the feature bay windows, which have been replaced with wooden sash double glazing, and the clever use of neutral walls also gives a more contemporary blend to things.
The central dining area is lovely with windows to the side and rear, so light and bright and plenty of room to furnish with good size dining table and other furniture to make the room even more flexible, it again has a great feel of blending the old with the new. The space then opens through to a great size kitchen / breakfast room which is really well fitted and offers great storage with integrated oven and hob with the extractor over. Doors lead from this space straight out onto to the terrace area and gardens beyond.
Although already a great size you also have the potential here to extend in several ways (subject to planning) many have done so up and down the road and there are some wonderful spaces you can create, orangery style seems popular along with semi-vaulted.
Moving upstairs the property just gets better, the stunning main bedroom is just beautiful, the two large relacenment woooden double glazed windows to the front, add real interest and then the further side aspect windows simply cause more light to flood in, it has a lovely feel. Bedrooms two and three are towards the rear and both have windows looking out to the gardens, these rooms are again finished to the same high standard.
The family bathroom is lovely, fantastic finish and shows the levels the owners have gone to with what they have done throughout. The modern twist on a claw foot roll top bath looks great with shower over and modern screen, this along with the gloss grey brick formation tiling is a real wow. The fitted furniture then is in the same `shades of grey` colours but with a more traditional style to it so again blend contemporary and period perfectly.
Then we have the surprise..... and the really exciting part for me. On the landing you have an already installed turning staircase that leads to a huge loft storage room which is crying out to become whatever you want it to be. For me I’d be looking to get planning for a dormer window or cool large Velux roof lights and creating an amazing master suite but you may have your own ideas.
Moving outside you have a really good size garden and yet you`re in town ... the sunken terrace extends across the full width and down the side so you have room to sit and chill, entertain and bbq but also privacy with the retaining wall then having steps leading up onto lawn. The main lawn is a good size with screened area to the rear which currently houses large garden storage shed, the pathway to the side runs the whole length.
The huge bonus here lies through the gate and beyond the back fence..... blocked paved parking, priceless in the town centre and you have two large spaces here side by side, if you don’t need them yourself I`d suggest renting them out?
You also have great short cut to walk through to town here which we`ll show you, makes the stroll to town even easier.
All in all a lovely period home in town that has parking and even more potential should you want to act on it, well worth seeing.
