TUCKED AWAY - noir by david cliff - I sold this property some time ago and when I arrived back I simply couldn`t believe the transformation.....
It is essentially unrecognisable from what was here previously, what was a modest dwelling with a great plot and potential is now the most stunning five bedroom family home with gardens to match, all set back from the road at the end of a quiet driveway.
On arrival you can see the driveway allows for ample parking and turning space with the double garage large enough to park in too if you wish.
Walking in under the oversized lit soffits you can already see the attention to detail, thoughtful and practical builders have been at work here.
The entrance hall is vast and beautifully tiled in a light gloss finish with large tiles that flow though into the kitchen, another great touch is that the entire ground floor has heated floors. The oak staircase has been handcrafted and the colour offers a lovely contrast to the tiles themselves. The cloakroom also has the continuation of the tiled flooring and is a great size, well fitted and looks impressive.
The study is then to the front of the house and has the perfect recess for a decent size desk with room for further storage, built in or otherwise. Beyond this room to the back and overlooking the huge gardens is the family room. A dual aspect room with window to the side and then bi-fold doors which open onto the terrace, over 16ft in length it really does give you the space you need.
Centrally, and again to the rear, you have a fantastic size living room with more bi-folding doors that again give views and access to the impressive terrace and vast gardens beyond, this room is probably larger than you may expect or need but it does allow you so many options to furnish.
Then we come to the heart of the home, and this is a bit special. The total space runs front to back and extends to over 30 feet in length, the main kitchen area has a continuation of the large gloss finished tiles that flow through double doors from the vast entrance hall and is seamless. Looking around you are struck by the amount of storage and on offer yet you still have all the integrated appliances you would expect.
The impressive centre Island is there to be used, often put in for a feature, this Island is full of function. Seating area, inset hob and then various pan draws and storage all in a contrasting colour to the main units.
Angled steps and glazed low level divide then leads you down to the seating and dining area, real wood flooring has been laid here and the contrast is lovely and also ties in with the open fireplace .... really nice touch. Again you have doors and windows giving access and views to the terrace, you really can see how great this home would be for family life and entertaining friends.
A separate utility room has been fitted to the same high standard with work surface, storage and sink, door to the outside and then further internal door to the large double garage.
Moving upstairs along the oak staircase you have five bedrooms, three en suites and a family bathroom to discover.
The master suite is as you would hope for, a lovely size, overlooking the gardens with a well fitted en suite and huge built in storage.
Bedrooms two and three are also great sizes, in fact they all are really, a true five bedroom home. Two and three also have great en suites and some features that make them far more interesting than just a standard bedroom.
The final bedrooms four and five sit centrally at the rear so again have great views of the gardens and are serviced by the family bathroom opposite, all in all some great first floor living space that matches the ground floor well, nicely balanced.
Outside the plot envelops the property in a really effective way and because of the setting it feels right. The front driveway is large and will accommodate numerous vehicles without using the double garage if needed. You then have wide access to both sides of the property which could be utilised if you wish but we feel it works really well as it is now, one side is lawn and the other a continuation of the terrace so you have a courtyard style section.
The split level terrace itself really is lovely, plenty of room to relax or entertain with ease, so often we see almost token gestures of patio but not here. This space then opens up onto an enormous, freshly turfed gardens which back onto a lightly treed copse, wonderful backdrop. The privacy here and the sense of quiet is obvious and something not to be undervalued.
