Incredible Plot And ViewINCREDIBLE PLOT AND VIEWS - I know I tend to waffle on when it comes to Swallowfield Village (quite justified in my opinion).....here I go again!
When it comes to Swallowfield I`m a bit biased, my mother still lives out here along with a lot of good friends and it`s a fantastic village to grow up in, settle down in or retire to.....it has something for everyone. As a quintessential English village, it`s well-known for its picturesque setting and traditional local amenities, including GP Practice/ Pharmacy, General Store, Post Office and two pubs plus a thriving community with Parish Hall and a Church. Residents enjoy a perfect blend of peaceful, rural surrounds with easy access to town centre attractions, with the vibrant area of Reading just over 15 minutes from the village by car, or by regular Bus service and Wokingham a short hop away. The primary school in Farley Hill is highly regarded and Bohunt, in the local area, is fantastic for comprehensive school requirements. Bus connections also give access to Reading and Hampshire schools.
This particular home is in Foxborough itself and was sold to the current owners by my father some 29yrs ago when he was a local estate agent so I`m particularly pleased to be finding the new very fortunate owners this time round, people tend to stay around here for some time and with good reason.
The home itself works so well and sits in a lovely spot with open clear views to the front and the most stunning views to the rear which we`ll come on to later. Typical of the design you wander into a really good size entrance hall which sets the scene well, room to get the kids shoes and coats off and greet guests. Bearing left you find a great size living room, a good 19ft in length with views to the front and double width opening to the rear taking you into the large dining room which allows your first glimpse of the incredible south facing gardens and views beyond through the bi-fold doors.
Some re-configuration has then taken place with the kitchen/breakfast room, and it works well, you now have a large through room front to back with a defined kitchen space and then large seating area which again has doors and views to the amazing gardens. Looking at this part of the house there are some other suggestions that might be of interest to contemplate, we also have a large utility next door which in turn leads to the outside and double garage.
To the first floor the great family space continues with five bedrooms and two bathrooms and the feeling of light and brightness pours in. The extension means that the landing now feels like it goes somewhere, strange thing to say but you’ll see what I mean when you get there. The master suite runs front to back with a great size bedroom, through to dressing room and then full en-suite with bath and separate shower so you can escape for a soak without being disturbed. You’ll see from the floor plan that all the bedrooms are really good sizes with two and three and four all doubles and then five a great single or study with incredible views should you prefer. One thing to also note is bedroom two has an amazing triple aspect and lends itself to adding another en-suite if needed.
Moving outside .... WOW ..... I’ll try to describe the stunning south facing gardens but suggest you peruse the pictures and then treble how good they look and you`ll start to get close to the reality but still be a way off. I`ve never seen so much sky, weird I know but again you’ll see what I mean when you’re stood there, I`d buy this home just for this. The creative shaped terrace is a fantastic size for relaxing, sunbathing and entertaining and in turn shapes the lovely lush lawn that leads from it. As you wander and gaze you notice all the established shrubs trees, bushes and general planting which all help create this lovely look and feel. Beyond there are open fields which then lead your eye to a tree line far in the distance, I’d stand here and just watch the weather coming in, sunshine frost or a storm brewing .... just beautiful, come take a look for yourself.
Need to get in to London? ... several options here but Hook station is one that many over look, easy 15 minute drive to the station and normally plenty of parking, then a one hour train from there to Waterloo.
