Sunday 21st January
Finchampstead Hurricanes V Oxshott
Sadly the teams only managed to get half a game played on Sunday 21st January, due to poor weather conditions and a very muddy pitch…..
However for the 35 minutes the teams did play, the
Hurricanes coped very well with the conditions, working out how to adapt
their style to suit the conditions, great first touches, accurate
passing, hard work and determination to win the ball. Their skill on the
ball really showed.
The early cut back cross from Ben M
onto Callum’s knee got the opener. Oxshott managed to get down our
right wing to squeeze the ball into the near post. 1-1.
A determined Callum with a little help from the mud
slammed in a point blank ball in a scramble. Oxshott long range shot
from outside the box dropped under the cross bar. 2-2
And
finally just before the half a long range curling ground shot from
Morgan tucked just inside the far post saw a 3-2 victory at half time
for the Hurricanes.
Across the team they were all playing well, talking to each other, supporting each other both on the attack and defence.
A lot of the game was played in their half with the occasional break from Oxshott, and Finch were definitely on top and starting to ease ahead.
Half a game of very well played football from all.
Well done all,
