Hurricanes 2-3 Walton Juniors

Finchampstead Hurricanes 2 -3 Walton Juniors

With a few absences today, the lads took on Walton. We had a very close game last time with them (before Nick Benham’s car got locked in a school) and they were definitely fired up to revenge the lads win.

The lads were trying hard but not quite at the races in the first half. Second to the ball or muscled off it, passing it back to them. Having said that there were very few opportunities at either end, but Walton got 2 ahead.

Half time rocket delivered and we saw a big difference. More organised, better passing, faster to the ball and showing the desire we know they can deliver on their day. Pin point free kick from the captain got the lads back into the game and they kept the pressure on. Walton got a 3rd but the lads kept their heads and battled on. Goal mouth scramble provided Hurricanes 2nd goal, and then the chase for the draw was on.

Sadly time ran out, but they were close and could have done it with a few more minutes. Another close game with Walton, very exciting. Some very tired legs out there with just 1 sub.

Send beat Farncombe so drops the Hurricanes down to 5th with a game in hand. Today’s game is the half way point in the season, 10 Leagues games played, 10 to go!!

The next 2 weeks sees the lads taking on Abbey Rangers Diamonds on back to back fixtures. League game next weekend and then cup semi.

Well done all.
