The water meadows of Swallowfield Park, belonging to Farley Estate, were transformed into a hum of activity for the inaugural Farley Hall Horse Trials on 31st May-1st June 2014. David Cliff was one of the events leading sponsors, supporting this new local annual fixture that aims to bring top level national eventing right to the heart of the Berkshire village.
The David Cliff section was won by international rider Kylie Roddy, and Olympians like Dan Jocelyn were also seen giving their young horses a run around the new course. Although a starter level event, this is a qualifier to win points to eventually qualify horses right to the top level events like Badminton/Burghley, and the organisers hope to achieve international status in future. Admission is free for pedestrians and charged reasonably for car-loads, making this a perfect weekend out for families wanting to enjoy a private historic parkland and some high level competition.
