9 goal thriller to get the Championship league underway!!
Finchampstead Hurricanes 6 – 3 Farncombe
MATCH REPORT
Farncombe were quick on the break and used this to get ahead early on, but the lads stayed calm and played their game. Well taken left footed half volley to open the seasons score sheet and draw level.
Then both teams got quick second goals. And then the Hurricanes stepped it up, keeping close control of the ball on the bobbly pitch. 3-2 half time and looking in control.
Second half really cranked up with chances to run away with it. At 5-2 farncombe got a third but by now the Hurricanes were dominating play. Headed cross off upright before final goal to finish 6-3!!
The style of play and movement I’m looking for is there, confidence and team work is great. I changed things to play more from the back when Dan had the ball which worked really well even on that pitch…superb place to be at start of the season. Definitely want a top half finish!!
